A few weeks ago, Youthscape 2016 officially opened! I am so excited that I got to have my artworks in his fantastic exhibition! My works were two mixed media artworks maintaining a 'unfinished' style.
'The Italian Blend', 2016 - Pencil, Watercolour & Gouache
Firstly, my artwork titled 'The Italian Blend', is a depiction of classic palette of basil and tomatoes used in traditional mediterranean cooking. I was very excited with the 'completed' composition of this piece. The artwork itself is made up of layers of watercolour and coloured pencil, and then finally some detailing using Gouache.
My second artwork was completed using watercolour, pen, gouache and some coloured pencil. 'The Girl', is a depiction of classic beauty that we view in magazines or media images. The incomplete nature of the work was a way of testing the mediums and how they cooperate when layered. This was essentially a technical experimentation.

Although I didn't collect any awards in this years exhibition, the exhibition is still open from 10th June till the 12th July, and i highly encourage you to make your way into Adelaide and take a look at the amazing artworks on display. The exhibition is in the RSASA Gallery, on the corner of Kintore Ave and North Terrace.
